If you don’t even know what a Podcast is, or you just want simple instructions for setting up The Calvary Road Podcast with a generic mp3 player then scroll down.

First off, what is a Podcast? A Podcast, once set up, is a simple means of automatically downloading daily content. In this case five new MP3s of The Calvary Road Radio program each week. And so, to set up a Podcast you need only two things: 1. a downloader and 2. an address to the “feed”.

Note:

The “feed” is the list of the episodes.

  1. You have the option of using any downloader capable of using RSS feeds, but I recommend Juice (formerly known as iPodder). Juice is excellently simple to setup and to use, click here to download. Next choose your Operating system, most likely Windows, after that wait for the download to automatically start. When the download completes run the installer. Click: Next, I Agree, Next, Install, then wait, and finally click Finish. Close the “Readme.txt”.
  2. And now all we need is the feed. Click here, Juice should automatically “catch” this link, and open a small window called “Add a Feed”. Click Save.
    Note:

If Juice does not open or it does not open the small window called “Add a Feed”, then do not fear. All you need to do is right-click this paragraph and click “Copy Shortcut” or “Copy Link Location” or “Copy Link Address”, whichever you see first. Then open Juice and click the Green “+” Button, the “Add a Feed” window will open. Right-click the “URL” field and click Paste. Click Save, and continue on with the next step.

Select “The Calvary Road” and wait for Juice to finish downloading the Episode info. Now just click the green “Check for new podcasts” button. Good job, that’s it, just open up Juice each week and click the green button and check all the boxes.

    Note:

There is also a very simple Scheduler built in to Juice. You can even put Juice in the Startup Folder, to always have it up to date.

  3. Yeah, I know I said there were only two things, but you gotta have a way to listen to these. So once all this is done there will be a “My Received Podcasts” folder in your “My Documents” folder. In there is all the downloaded mp3 files. Drag ‘n’ drop these files to generic mp3 player and you’re set to go.
Note:

If at any point you get stuck in Juice there is a wonderful user manual located in Taskbar> Start> All Programs> Juice> UserGuide.
